ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION:
Inadequate knowledge and training in occupational health and safety remains a critical contributor to workplace accidents. The Indonesian Ministry of Manpower reported that 47300 workplace accidents were recorded until April 2025, representing a 12% increase compared to the same period in the previous year. Diverse educational backgrounds and post-work fatigue contribute to workers neglecting traditional information delivery methods. Evidence demonstrates that animated educational videos significantly improve health information recall, thereby supporting this intervention approach.
METHODS:
This project developed a digital intervention using Jotform that integrates three components via a single mobile link: (1) pre-assessment quizzes measuring baseline health knowledge, (2) animated educational videos delivering evidence-based content, and (3) feedback mechanisms for worker-management communication. Content development involves cross-sector collaboration between health professionals and creative animation designers to ensure scientific accuracy and visual engagement. HR departments share the mobile link with workers. Upon access, workers complete a brief quiz. Responses automatically generate statistical data in real-time, and workers then view short animated educational videos tailored to specific health topics. Before final submission, workers are permitted to provide feedback to the company. Initial implementation is planned across multiple industrial sectors.
RESULTS:
Based on evidence that animated videos significantly improve health information recall in 73% of randomized controlled trials¹ and strong correlations between modern training methods and improved safety outcomes across diverse industrial sectors², we anticipate this intervention will achieve significant improvements in workers' health literacy and safety behaviors.
CONCLUSIONS:
This digital intervention offers a scalable solution for improving occupational health education in Indonesia. The integrated feedback mechanism improves worker-management communication, giving workers voice in program improvement. Real-time data analytics will enable identification of knowledge gaps and targeted interventions for at-risk groups. The cross-sector approach combining health expertise with creative design offers potential for broader application in diverse workplace settings.
