INTRODUCTION:
The Regional Health Units (URS) are decentralized administrative units of the Minas Gerais State Health Secretariat (SES/MG), and among their responsibilities is working with municipalities to consolidate Primary Health Care (PHC) as the organizer of care; and to promote and carry out continuing education actions for managers and workers of the municipal health system to strengthen policies within the SUS (Brazilian Unified Health System). The creation of instruments of this kind is important for improving the quality of health care in the municipality.

METHODS:
This is a descriptive study, of the experience report type, about the implementation of a course aimed at PHC Coordinators from the 53 municipalities that are part of the Western Minas Gerais macro-region and that are under the jurisdiction of the Divinópolis URS.

RESULTS:
49 of the 53 municipalities under the jurisdiction of the western macro-region registered for the course. Five modules of the course were held in 2025. Module 1, entitled "Contextualization," covered the following topics: Healthcare Scenario in the Macroregion; Primary Healthcare Indicators; Role and Routines of the Primary Healthcare Coordinator. Module 2, "Primary Healthcare," covered the National Primary Care Policy and the State Primary Care Policy, among others. Module 3 addressed topics related to the Planning and Management Instruments of the SUS (Brazilian Unified Health System); and Resource Management. Module 4 covered policies and programs related to Health Promotion. In Module 5, the Women's Healthcare Network was presented and discussed with the participants. An average of 36 coordinators participated in each module.

CONCLUSIONS:
The reported experience strengthens the qualification of coordinators from the municipalities of the western macroregion, promoting integrated management aligned with public policies.
