ABSTRACT:
Violence against women is considered a public health, public safety, and justice issue. This article aims to present the profile of the victims and the characteristics of intra-hospital violence against women in the State of Pará. This study has a quantitative nature, of a descriptive, exploratory, and documentary type. The research used the database of the Subsecretariat of Intelligence and Criminal Analysis, referring to police reports registered at the Specialized Division for Women's Assistance, using the period from 2012 to 2020 as a temporal cutoff. It was observed that the most common types of violence suffered were threats, insults, and bodily injury. Regarding the main means employed, no instruments were used in the victimization of women. Additionally, the morning shift and Tuesday appeared as the shift and day, respectively, with the highest number of recorded occurrences. Given the relevance of the topic, it is necessary to carry out studies on the phenomenon of intra-hospital violence against women in the State of Pará, in order to better understand this phenomenon, as well as to contribute to the improvement of public policies to address this type of violence.
