ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND:
Malaria remains a persistent threat to global health, with progress in its control and elimination stalling in many endemic countries, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa. China has developed a series of comprehensive strategies, accumulated substantial valuable experience and comparative advantages over 70 years of malaria elimination efforts. China was certified as malaria-free by World Health Organization in 2021. China has also actively promoted cooperation with Africa in malaria control. This study aims to investigate the perspective of malaria-endemic African countries on China's malaria elimination experience, analyze the current status and challenges of China-Africa cooperation in malaria control, and propose key areas for future collaboration.

METHODS:
Semi-structured interviews were conducted with key informants, including national malaria program managers and technicians from high-burden countries in Africa. The data were analyzed using the thematic framework method.

RESULTS:
Malaria-endemic African countries consider China's malaria elimination strategies, such as multi-sectoral collaboration, health system strengthening, and community engagement, to be instructive for malaria control in Africa. They hold a positive attitude towards cooperation with China in malaria control, identifying personnel training, medical products, surveillance system development, and infrastructure construction as priority areas.

CONCLUSIONS:
China can leverage its strengths in information system development, health workforce training, infrastructure construction, and anti-malaria products to integrate resources and assist African countries in achieving sustainable malaria control and elimination.
