ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION:
Globally, Zoonoses have been recorded to impose a significant health threat, which is reflected in impedance of economic, social, and public health education growth. An empirical score of 60% known diseases and 75% new discoveries has been documented from zoonotic infectious diseases. This idea has prompted researchers to explore the paradigm of implementing and integrating one health strategies in the mitigation of zoonotic pandemics.
METHODS:
This study critically examines the integration of one health strategies in control of its prevalence, emphasizing on the heretical and novel discoveries. Evidences from multi-sectoral firms were analysed critically, ranging from its substantial effect to the practical implementation.
RESULTS:
Results have unveiled that the effect of some socio-demographic factors, atmospheric weather, and socio-economic factors has immensely contributed to the widespread of zoonotic diseases across the globe. More so, environmental alterations driven by human activities have created a favourable condition for pathogens by enabling them to create a habitat. Hence, the integration of artificial intelligence-driven tools and genomic data as a digital surveillance strategy to document the prevalence of zoonotic disease, upholds an emerging way in effective data curations and sharing globally. An AI-powered surveillance system has been documented in some advanced countries to bridge the gaps in the cross-sectoral surveillance and data integration strategy. Recommendation: Policy makers and funding bodies should work together in providing a stringent policy on human activities and adequate funding in implementing digital surveillance strategies, respectively.
