INTRODUCTION:
Access to specialized care in Brazil’s SUS was organized through the Nacional Regulation Policy (Política Nacional de Regulação, in Portuguese), and the waiting lists' timely access is a vigorous problem faced on the entirety of the system¹. Thus, this evidence synthesis propose to register the main effective strategies to reduce waiting times on elective procedures worldwide.

METHODS:
A qualitative Study mas conducted in the form of an evidence synthesis, which considered the following research question: What are the effective strategies to reduce waiting times to specialized ambulatory care on private or public health Systems in Brazil and worldwide. Inclusion criteria were all Studies that approached one or more effective strategizes to manage waiting lists. Exclusion criteria were strategies related to Urgency/Emergency care and the Covid-19 crisis.

RESULTS:
Some strategies found to reduce waiting times on specialized care were: Lean; improvement of processes; use of Eletronic Medical Record; management of waiting lists; and booking optimization²⁻⁵. Evidence shows that these strategies, both in public or private contexts, were effective on improving demand management, waiting lists organization and better care to the patient. Furthermore, care management arrangements and regulatory technologies and arrangements, the digitalization and interoperability, the rearrangement of the services capacity and workflow, and the collaborative practices across care were effective to improve access to care and diminish care bottelnecks on a service and system levels.

CONCLUSIONS:
Evidence presented shows that strategies as such: Lean, Telehealth, eletronic medical record, booking optimization and demand management are effective to reduce waiting times on specialized care. Care management arrangements, the digitalization and multidisciplinary teams contributed to better efficiency and speedy access in health systems, thus improving a better access to these services.
