ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION:
the state policy of integrative and complementary practices (PEPIC-MG) completed 15 years in 2025. previously, the lack of consolidated historical series hindered evaluating effectiveness and co-financing decisions. this study presents the first continuous state monitoring of PICS actions in primary health care (PHC) in Minas Gerais. the objective is to describe the evolution of integrative and complementary practices supply regarding municipal coverage, procedures, practice types, and professional profiles, identifying advances for policy improvement.

METHODS:
this is a descriptive time series study. data sources include the national registry of health establishments (CNES) for service 134 and SISAB/e-SUS-APS reports. variables include the number of offering municipalities, registered establishments, recorded actions, participants, and professional categories. absolute frequency and percentage variation analyses were performed for the 2016-2024 period.

RESULTS:
the number of municipalities with integrative and complementary practices in PHC increased from 424 in 2016 to 789 in 2024, an 86% growth. total procedures rose from 34580 to 669141, an 1838% increase. acupuncture, auriculotherapy, and electrostimulation concentrated 63% of individual treatments. collective activities increased 39 times, reaching 605351 participants in 2024. registry of service 134 expanded significantly after 2021, reflecting co-financing calibration strategies via resolution 9076/2023. despite advances, one third of municipalities do not meet supply goals.

CONCLUSIONS:
monitoring indicates a rapid expansion of integrative and complementary practices in PHC in Minas Gerais, demonstrating the effectiveness of financial induction instruments. however, territorial inequalities and low diversity of practices persist, requiring qualification of small municipalities and improved recording in information systems. the historical series provides an unprecedented basis for planning and research, contributing to equitable and integrative policies within the Brazilian healthcare system.
