Helicobacter pylori is a major pathogen linked to severe gastric diseases. As antibiotic resistance compromises standard treatments, probiotics have emerged as a vital adjuvant therapy to enhance eradication efficacy and reduce side effects. This study aims to systematically evaluate the global research trends, influential contributors, and thematic evolution characterizing the scientific landscape of H. pylori and probiotics. A comprehensive search was conducted across PubMed, Web of Science, and Scopus databases, covering all relevant articles and reviews published from 2004 to 2024. Bibliometric analysis was performed using the bibliometrix R package and VOSviewer software. The study generated visual maps to illustrate annual scientific production, author collaboration networks, leading country contributions, keyword co-occurrence clusters, and the conceptual evolution of research themes over the last two decades. The literature on H. pylori and probiotics has witnessed steady growth, with exponential increases observed particularly after 2010. The United States, Italy, and China are the most productive countries, while Gut and Helicobacter serve as primary publication venues. Keyword analysis reveals distinct clusters focusing on gut microbiota modulation, antibiotic resistance mitigation, and immune response mechanisms. Thematic evolution indicates a clear shift from basic pathogenicity studies toward clinical trials evaluating probiotic-based therapies and specific bacterial strains. Research regarding probiotics as an adjunct in H. pylori management is expanding globally, driven by the search for safer treatment strategies. The continuing focus on gut microbiota interactions suggests probiotics will remain central to future therapeutic approaches and precision medicine, offering new hope for patients with resistant infections.
