ABSTRACT:
The profound linguistic diversity of Africa, with over 2000 languages, presents a significant, often overlooked barrier to effective healthcare delivery, public health communication, and cross-border health security initiatives. Our work directly addresses this critical gap. We are pioneering the development and institutional adoption of African Business Language, a strategic language framework designed to unify communication across key sectors. While its business utility is clear, its most vital application may be in public health, where clear protocols, training, and community engagement can save lives. Therefore, we wish to partner with the Congress to host an official side event, titled: "Breaking the Language Barrier: A New Framework for Pan-African Health Communication and Systems Strengthening." This session would feature: 1. Data & Evidence: Presenting research on language as a social determinant of health outcomes in Africa. 2. The ABL Framework: Demonstrating its application for health worker training, patient education materials, and cross-border epidemic response coordination. 3. High-Level Panel: Featuring health ministers, AU officials, and NGO leaders to discuss policy adoption. We believe this topic aligns perfectly with the Congress's themes of innovation, equity, and systemic resilience. As a gesture of our strong commitment to the Congress's mission, we are prepared to: • Become an official NGO sponsor of the Congress. • Underwrite a "Young Women in Public Health" initiative to sponsor the attendance and participation of a promising young female health professional or students at the Congress and our side event. We are confident this partnership would deliver unique value to Congress attendees and move a critical agenda forward.
