The World Health Organisation has noted that diarrhoea is one of the leading causes for death in developing countries, and there is an adverse risk with long-lasting effects for women and children.1 We develop methodology to map the risk of diarrhoea, and COVID-19 by building on the fuzzy lattice catchment area developed by de Klerk and Fabris-Rotelli.2 We bring in age, gender and location attributes (in the form of provinces) and identify how the risk changes for the different attributes. We also consider the nature of the surrounding areas of interest to account for spatial autocorrelation. We present novel ideas about mapping diseases when precise locations are unknown. Lastly, we track the disease over time to identify patterns in the disease movement by using the generic spatial similarity test of Kirsten and Fabris-Rotelli.3 We hope to see accurate counts of the disease in the areas of consideration.
