INTRODUCTION:
While global health frameworks recognize social and economic determinants, nutrition inequity remains an unaddressed moral and structural determinant of health. Billions still suffer from systemic injustice in food access and governance. The absence of a unifying, equity-focused measurement tool hinders holistic progress towards the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This initiative introduces Nutrition Justice as a transformative determinant and advocates for its institutionalization.

METHODS:
This initiative employs a transdisciplinary approach to (1) conceptualize nutrition as a justice issue and (2) operationalize equity through the Nutrition Equity Index (NEI). The NEI framework calculates the wealth-based inequity gap across three chronic indicators (Stunting, Anemia, Recurrent Wasting) derived from existing international surveys (MICS/DHS). The framework integrates these nutrition disparities with targets across the 17 SDGs (e.g., poverty, gender equality), utilizing a rights-based discourse for policy analysis.

RESULTS:
The NEI reveals critical cross-sectoral linkages, demonstrating that focusing on nutrition equity accelerates progress across all 17 SDGs. By reframing the issue as a determinant of justice, the initiative provides a robust, evidence-based measurement tool to guide governments and multilateral agencies. Furthermore, the accompanying initiative of the International Nutrition Justice And Equity Day mobilizes collective global accountability, ensuring resources are directed towards the most systemically disadvantaged populations.

CONCLUSIONS:
Nutrition Justice is not merely a health agenda - it is a civilizational mandate. Institutionalizing the NEI provides the unique technical means to expose and combat structural violence rooted in nutritional disparity. Adopting the International Nutrition Justice And Equity Day would signal global recognition of nutrition as a moral determinant, central to planetary health and sustainable futures beyond 2030.
