INTRODUCTION:
Public Health is a relevant topic that greatly affects the quality and dignity of life worldwide. Problems such as the rise of non-communicable diseases, epidemics, the shortage of a health workforce, and issues within Public Health Systems are becoming increasingly important, and it is vital that the youth participate in policy and decision-making.

METHODS:
This roundtable will consist of 3 parts of structured discussion to reflect on the role of Youth Leadership in Public Health Governance. Participants will be divided into stakeholder groups: youth representatives, public health practitioners, civil society, and institutional decision-makers. The first part (15 minutes) will be used to identify problems and barriers to youth representation, such as a lack of voting power and conflicts of interest. The second part (20 minutes) will establish standards for youth representation across six domains: transparent selection and diversity, decision rights and influence, resourcing and accessibility, safety and ethics, capacity-building and mentorship, and accountability. The final part (15 minutes) will translate these standards into feasible actions that can be adopted by youth worldwide. A facilitator team will be available to assist the participants.

RESULTS:
The roundtable will help participants discuss how to overcome barriers to youth participation in Public Health Governance. A draft of the “Minimum Standards for Youth Representation” charter will be produced, along with a document outlining next steps for implementation within the participants’ organization.

CONCLUSIONS:
This session tackles the issues and solutions of Youth Representation in Public Health Governance, providing participants with tools to participate in discussions and be protagonists in changing Public Health for the better.
