ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION:
National malaria prevention campaigns face persistent challenges related to household enumeration, last-mile logistics, real-time monitoring, and accountability. In guinea, traditional paper-based systems limited data timeliness, operational visibility, and performance management. To address these constraints, the ministry of health implemented a nationwide end-to-end digital system to support seasonal malaria chemoprevention and long-lasting insecticidal net distribution campaigns.
METHODS:
Guinea deployed a digital campaign management platform across all regions, supporting household registration, stock tracking, supervision, performance monitoring, and real-time reporting. The system was implemented through phased national scale-up, supported by structured training, field supervision, and integration with existing health information systems. Operational data from campaign activities were collected and analyzed to assess coverage, workforce performance, logistics efficiency, and data quality.
RESULTS:
The digital platform supported the registration and monitoring of over 2500000 households and mobilized more than 12000 frontline workers nationwide. Real-time data collection enabled daily performance tracking, rapid identification of implementation gaps, and dynamic reallocation of resources. Digital logistics tracking improved stock visibility and distribution planning, reducing delays and enhancing accountability. Supervisory workflows and performance-based monitoring strengthened frontline agent engagement, resulting in improved coverage, service quality, and data completeness across all campaign phases.
CONCLUSIONS:
End-to-end digitalization of malaria prevention campaigns in guinea significantly strengthened operational efficiency, data-driven decision-making, and accountability at national scale. The experience demonstrates that integrated digital systems can effectively address common campaign challenges, supporting improved coverage, responsiveness, and governance. These findings provide practical lessons for countries seeking to leverage digitalization to enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of large-scale malaria prevention efforts.
