ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT:
In its role as a apolitical civil society actor, an independent strategic partner of the State of Cameroon in the health sector, the Cameroon Public Health Association has been publishing Political Advocacy Notes every two years since 2014, that are submitted to the government authorities and the national and international community. Taking advantage of the October 12th 2025 Presidential Election, the association in its fifth Notes, undertook an advocacy endeavour targeting twelve Candidates and their election teams through which ten genuine proposals derived from a desk review analysis and field interviews, of the Cameroon health system were presented and publicly advertised through social medias, aiming at suggesting political leaders to invest more on health promotion, disease prevention, equity and social justice in health by enhancing Universal Health Coverage, Primary Health Care and Community Health so that no one is left aside. This advocacy resulted in an official recognition and congratulation of the Association and its inclusion in the national health policy reforms’ Committee. In conclusion, getting health decision makers accountable of health equity in their political campaigns is likely to induce positive changes.
