ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION:
AMR is an ever growing global public health threat driven largely by antimicrobial misuse which can be linked to low knowledge and awareness levels among the public. Universities are representative of a larger society as they attract people from different backgrounds and hence can be strategic settings for capacity building and empowerment with regard to AMR prevention.

METHODS:
AWaRe Wednesday was implemented for eight weeks between October and November 2025 delivered every Wednesday. Short videos were produced weekly featuring students from the different colleges discussing carefully selected AMR themes and their disciplinary relevance for example AMR and aquaculture, technology, IPC, biosecurity and policy. Each video was accompanied by a poster reinforcing key messages for retention. Artificial intelligence (AI) supported tools were applied to design engaging posters, simplify the complex AMR concepts, edit the videos (adding transitions, text on screen edits, music edits, quick cuts) in order to make them more engaging.

RESULTS:
The campaign achieved strong acceptability evidenced by consistent weekly participation of students and high interdisciplinary engagement. With continuity of the campaign, the expected outcomes include improved multidisciplinary understanding of AMR and increased awareness and empowerment towards antimicrobial stewardship.

CONCLUSIONS:
AWaRe Wednesday demonstrates a scalable, AI-supported model for AMR communication in settings where people have access to technology and can strengthen AMR awareness and contribute to antimicrobial stewardship and promote behavior change.
