The One Health concept is the key to a healthy future – or how to prepare leaders and experts to implement this idea in the functioning of policies and communities

ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION:
Una Europa is an alliance of 11 European universities established in 2019 to promote innovative educational formats. Within this framework, the One Health Self-Steering Committee at Jagiellonian University developed a Polish-language webinar introducing the core principles of the One Health (OH) approach. Despite its increasing relevance, OH remains insufficiently understood among the general public and parts of the academic community. Effective implementation of the One Health framework requires a shared understanding and common terminology across disciplines. Establishing such a “common language” is essential for raising awareness, fostering public support, and enabling coherent action. Therefore, educators, experts, community leaders, and policymakers should be equipped with foundational OH knowledge to support public education and the development of policies aligned with the One Health concept. This abstract presents our experience in developing and disseminating OH-related educational materials within the Una Europa alliance.
METHODS:
The webinar, entitled “One Health Concept as the Key to a Healthy Future”, which is planned to last until June 2026, will address vaccination, zoonotic diseases, and antimicrobial resistance. Participants will learn how to differentiate vaccine types, understand indications and contraindications, apply principles of responsible antimicrobial use, and reduce the risk of zoonotic infections.
RESULTS:
Knowledge and competency gains will be assessed using pre- and post-webinar tests.
CONCLUSIONS:
Detailed data on participant reach, knowledge improvement, and user feedback will be presented at the conference.
