ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT:
Early detection is crucial for managing and preventing these conditions. Posbindu (Integrated Health Post) is a community health facility designed to enhance public health through monitoring and early detection of NCDs. This study aims to evaluate the role of Posbindu in the early detection of CMDs and assess the impact of regular participation on health outcomes. This study employs a quantitative approach with a retrospective cohort study using secondary data from Posbindu in Padang. Data were collected from several Posbindu sites within the working area of a community health center, including records of routine health checks and cardiometabolic screening results. Participants were categorized based on their frequency of attending Posbindu sessions. Analysis was performed to evaluate the effectiveness of Posbindu in detecting CMD risk factors, diagnosing conditions at an early stage, and understanding the relationship between regular participation and control of blood pressure and blood glucose levels. The analysis revealed that Posbindu successfully detected a number of cardiometabolic risk cases at an early stage, with a higher prevalence of hypertension, diabetes, and dyslipidemia compared to general population data. Participants who attended Posbindu sessions regularly showed improved management of blood pressure and blood glucose levels. Regular attendance was associated with better control of these health parameters. Posbindu facilitated the early detection of cases in the initial stages of these conditions. Posbindu plays a significant role in the early detection and management of cardiometabolic diseases through routine health monitoring and educational programs. Regular participation in Posbindu sessions contributes to better control of blood pressure and blood glucose levels. Widespread implementation of Posbindu can help identify risk factors and cardiometabolic conditions at an early stage, enabling more effective early intervention and prevention. Recommendations for further development include enhancing training for Posbindu staff, improving detection tools, and encouraging consistent participation among community members.
