INTRODUCTION:
Capitalizing Experiential Knowledge in Health Promotion (CEKHP) is a structured approach for collecting, analyzing, and sharing HP professionals’ knowledge and know-how. Developed by a French national working group, CEKHP follows a process led by a “capitalization facilitator” whose role is: 1) framing the capitalization project; 2) conducting a semi-structured interview with the project implementer; 3) analyzing data; 4) drafting a capitalization document documenting project strategies, levers, obstacles and context; 5) disseminating it via the EKHP resource center. A training program was developed for CEKHP facilitators, who are then invited to join a community of practice. This abstract presents the results of an evaluation of this training.

METHODS:
Evaluation relied on training material review, training reports, an online survey of trained CEKHP facilitators (34 responses), and semi-structured interviews with 7 members of the national working group. Results were analyzed using the RE-AIM framework.

RESULTS:
CEKHP has trained 270 facilitators through inter-organizational and organization-based trainings, summer schools, and university modules, reaching diverse HP professionals. Satisfaction was high, with participants finding the training useful for practice. Variability was observed in the quality of capitalization documents, with some remaining overly descriptive or not produced, partly due to participants lacking analytical and writing prerequisites. Only one third of respondents published their document, and nearly 30% had not initiated further capitalization activities. Training was conducted by a limited number of organizations.

CONCLUSIONS:
Based on recommendations, CEKHP training was revised: prerequisites were strengthened, guidance on formulating the capitalization question improved, post-training skills support enhanced via the community of practice, and a pool of facilitators from different organizations established. These adaptations aim to continue developing the competency of experiential knowledge capitalization as a cross-cutting skill for HP professionals. This, in turn, contributes to making field practitioners’ experiential knowledge visible, valued, and applied, complementing knowledge produced through research.
