ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION:
Declining vaccination coverage requires innovative strategies. This report describes an extramural vaccination strategy implemented in Vitória da Conquista, BA, to reach underserved populations.
METHODS:
A descriptive study (1st Semester 2025) based on municipal immunization reports. Strategy involved territory mapping and actions in 12 diverse locations: schools, businesses, churches, public squares, a university, and rural communities.
RESULTS:
• Over 1,100 doses administered specifically in extramural settings. • These actions contributed to a total of 115,406 doses given in the municipality. • Successfully reached historically excluded populations (e.g., rural workers, busy professionals).
CONCLUSIONS:
Extramural actions are an indispensable and effective pillar for rescuing vaccination coverage and promoting health equity. We recommend the institutionalization and expansion of this strategy as a permanent public health policy.
