ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND:
Leptospirosis requires complex surveillance in Salvador, integrating environmental, epidemiological, and social data. Historically, the information needed for monitoring and rapid action was scattered across different sectors. The Health Situation Room (SDSS) acts as a decision-making hub for the Municipal Health Secretariat. This study reports on the experience of developing a Business Intelligence (BI) dashboard to integrate data and enhance the municipal health system's efficiency in responding to this disease.

METHODS:
This is an experience report on the implementation of the dashboard in 2025, driven by intersectoral collaboration. The process involved the Epidemiological Surveillance and Zoonoses sectors, the Strategic Health Directorate, the Federal University of Bahia, and the Secretariats of Innovation and Finance. The SDSS led the definition of key indicators, the integration of epidemiological, environmental, and sociodemographic data sources, and the construction of visualizations.

RESULTS:
The dashboard successfully centralized information, allowing for agile monitoring. Practical outcomes included: data-driven prioritization of rat control actions by the Zoonoses Center in high-risk areas; improved technical capacity to communicate disease severity to the public; and the deployment of prevention alerts specifically targeted at vulnerable areas identified by the tool. A key positive aspect was the consolidation of a collaborative network, breaking down institutional silos.

CONCLUSIONS:
The SDSS fulfills a strategic role in integrating information and innovative technologies. The experience demonstrates that intersectoral articulation is indispensable for addressing multifactorial public health problems like Leptospirosis. Future steps include maintaining this working group and incorporating predictive models to anticipate outbreaks and optimize control actions.
