ABSTRACT
BACKGROUND:
Permanent Health Education (EPS) acts as a strategic mechanism to qualify Brazil's health district networks by promoting the transformation of work processes through the integration of teaching, care, management, and social participation. In this context, the Center for Permanent Health Education (NUMEPS) proves fundamental to strengthening the health system.
METHODS:
NUMEPS's operations are based on intersectoral and participatory actions, guided by territorial demands and the specific needs of health management and care. Strategies include developing educational and scientific materials, implementing health actions within companies and industries, and providing specialized training for health professionals and legislative employees. Furthermore, the center establishes partnerships with the technology and education sectors, expanding the capacity for innovation and the integration of public policies.
RESULTS:
These initiatives contributed to the qualification of work processes and the strengthening of health promotion and disease prevention across various urban spaces. The production of educational and scientific materials facilitated the dissemination of qualified information and the systematization of local experiences. Moreover, training and intersectoral collaborations deepened the understanding of public health policies, enhancing governance, institutional dialogue, and integrated action within the territory.
CONCLUSIONS:
The NUMEPS of Itaitinga (Ceará, Brazil) stands out as a vital instrument for strengthening the health system by articulating training, management, and intersectorality. It contributes to the qualification of the health network and the consolidation of integrated, effective practices, ultimately fostering meaningful changes in professional performance.
